The medium-sized company was founded in 1929 in Zeulenroda, Germany and is one of the market leaders in its industry: Bauerfeind employs around 2,000 members of staff worldwide and is represented by subsidiaries in over 20 countries. The products are exclusively made in Germany and are partly manufactured by hand before being sent all over the world. They fulfil the most stringent requirements in terms of quality, effectiveness, and wearing comfort. This is confirmed by regular inspection procedures, for which our products are permitted to bear the seals and marks after successful testing.

The company has been a firm fixture of Olympic medical care since 2002: Initially, Bauerfeind offered its orthopaedic services exclusively to German athletes but since 2010, the company has been responsible for treating athletes from all participating countries as a partner of the relevant organizing committee. Most recently, Bauerfeind successfully treated athletes at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
